News on S Tyneside Street Space

Good morning everyone,

We're pleased to say that one of first cycle schemes of this year has been implemented. This is located at Lukes Lane between the Mill Lane Roundabout and new residential estate- a total of nearly 800 metres. The traffic cones that you see below are simply a temporary measure until new permanent features are delivered and a resurfacing scheme completed later in the year.

Consultation, particularly for schemes that reallocate space away from the private car is quite important. With everyone's assistance on this project earlier in the year we will continue to deliver for the benefit of residents and visitors to South Tyneside.
